Highlights
Samsung One UI 8.5 features include an upgraded Bixby, Quick Share with iPhone, editing using Photo Assistant, and AI-focused features across the Galaxy lineup and tablets. One UI 8.5 eligible devices include more than 300 million devices. The size of the update is around 4GB. One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16.
The global rollout started on May 11, and the update was officially launched in Korea on May 5. The Galaxy S25 and S24 series are currently getting the stable version. Other older phones will get the update later.
Devices Eligible for Samsung One UI 8.5 Features
The One UI 8.5 update rollout is underway for the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, as well as the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S10 series. For the Galaxy S22 series and older devices, Samsung has not yet confirmed the stable update rollout timeline.

Key Useful Samsung One UI 8.5 Features
Quick Share with iPhone: The update adds AirDrop compatibility, allowing users to share files with iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices – and vice versa.
Storage Share: Access files from other Samsung devices directly on your phone through the My Files app.
Photo Assist: Newly added continuous image editing features without needing to save separately, edit images using text prompts, and take objects from one image to add them to another.
Anti-Theft Protection: Automatically locks your phone after multiple failed unlock attempts.

Auto Language Detection: Just select translation once, and the system will automatically detect who is speaking – no need for everyone to tap the microphone button.
Dual-Side Capturing: Record yourself and the rear camera view at the same time.
Assistant Answers on Your Behalf: It asks callers who they are and the reason for calling.
Personalized Messages for Declined Calls: Based on your schedule, callers will receive messages with the exact reason why you are not answering at the moment.
